Antibody mimicry in Zika infections
A new paper has been posted as a pre-print on BioRx; this paper is currently being peer reviewed for publication. We have opted to share this information in preprint form with the Zika community to accelerate development of Zika interventions.

The paper addresses the potential role of antibody mediated mimicry as a contributor to Zika virus pathogenesis. This would be consistent with the appearance of Guillain Barre syndrome, an autoimmune disease. Understanding whether antibodies to Zika are binding to human proteins and eliciting autoimmune reactions is a critical consideration in vaccine and immunotherapeutic development. ioGenetics' team is working to test this hypothesis.
